I had a 6 point something GPA and an arrear when i attended the TCS on-campus drive. Getting placed in an on-campus recruitment drive is as easy as getting good grades in lab courses. :P

Almost everyone who can talk fluently and can sound sensible for 20–30 mins can get placed in an on-campus recruitment drive.

For TCS we had 2 rounds

1. Aptitude Round
2. Personal Interview

Aptitude Round

Practicing with Quantitative Aptitude by R.S Agarwal will suffice. The questions appearing in the aptitude round will not be tough if you work hard.

Personal Interview

Attend mock interviews with people whom you don’t know to get the real interview feel. Try being bold and honest with all your answers.

Learn all the basic programs in C++ and Java(CS and IT only). Consider learning applications of all the topics of interest you have mentioned in your resume and you must be able to explain your project clearly and precisely in a way they will be able to understand.

You can always ask them for a pen and paper to help you explain things in a better way. If you don’t know an answer to a question(something like a puzzle) they ask, you can always ask them the answer. They will appreciate your eagerness to know something you don’t know.

Getting through a personal interview round is merely convincing the person interviewing you. Keep this in mind when you attend the personal interview round.
